1: Story 2
Zoe gets a
Bird's eye view of Byron Bay
Zoe
Naylor loves adventure - but when we told her
we wanted to throw her out of a perfectly good
aeroplane she was more than a little apprehensive.
She eventually
agreed when we told her she would be landing
safely on one of Byron Bay's beautiful beaches.
Byron Bay is Australia's
most eastern point, and is known for it's relaxed
atmosphere and alternative lifestyle.
As Zoe has never
been skydiving before, she took a tandem jump
- that's where you are strapped to an expert,
and all you have to do is take in the exhilarating
free-fall and enjoy the ride !
Zoe
jumped from a height of 10,000 feet, which
meant she was free-falling for over 40 seconds.
A jump of 12,000 feet means a free-fall of
almost a minute !
Local skydiver
Steve hooked Zoe up just seconds before releasing
the door, and sending her on the ride of her
life !
Steve is from
the Byron Bay Skydiving Centre, operating out
of Tyagarah Airport, at Brunswick Heads, just
a short drive from Byron Bay. You can find
their details, including their website and
email address in Fast Facts at the bottom of
this page.
Zoe loved every
minute of the jump, is planning to jump again
from a greater height, and thoroughly recommends
a tandem jump to anyone !
