The Very Fast Jet Boat Here
at Escape, I’ve had the opportunity to do
some amazing things… and another thing I’ve always wanted to do is
to take a ride on one of these… a
Very Fast Jet Boat… Safety bar… yeah, right! I’ve been sent up the
back… not as punishment, but apparently this is where I’ll get the
wildest ride… We set out at a
leisurely pace… so far so good… but it isn’t long before this Foxy
Lady starts to pick up some serious speed… and stops. … and picks up some
serious speed… and then a 180 degree turn. This is kind of like
one of those gut-wrenching carnival rides… except this is the real
thing! The G-forces need to be experienced to be believed. Let’s
go again! The fuel injected, 6
cylinder Yanmar Turbo engine is what makes this lady behave like a
Formula One racer on water… What a rush! Oh – and
expect to get wet… very wet! That’s what I call a very fast, and very wet jetboat! We reach speeds of 70km/h or 40knots in nautical terms. Our
jet boat “Foxy” operates from Peppers Anchorage at Port Stephens. Prices
are $33 for adults, 25 for students and
$15 for children under 12 for a 20 minute ride… It’s
pretty popular so you’ll need to book, either by phone or visit their
website.
