Top Tips
“With all photography, no matter what you are shooting on you must pay attention to framing and lighting. If you cut heads/hands off your subject or make the frame “too busy” when shooting something specific, the photo will lose a lot of effect. Also try placing the subject in one third of the frame for more impact; too many shots dead on centre can be a bit boring.
When taking photos, assess the lighting. Of course you don’t have the time or resources to knock up a studio lighting setup when it suits you, so make sure you’re working with good ambient light. If your low light shots are disappointing, try upping the ISO instead of resorting to the flash which may wash your subject out in low light. Outdoor day shots? Surprisingly enough, you can bring out more detail in portraits and lose raccoon eyes by using a flash.”
